Echinacea and Peppermint tea

Echinacea and Peppermint tea

Long revered for its immune boosting properties, Echinacea doesn’t have to be taken in tablet form and is very pleasant to drink in tea.  Many studies have found that with early symptoms of cold and flu - such as a runny nose and a scratchy throat -  that those who drank 3 cups of Echinacea every day for five days recovered much sooner than those who drank tea without Echinacea.   Furthermore clinical trials also found that drinking 1 cup of Echinacea daily reduced the odds of developing a cold by 85%.  The addition of peppermint not only compliments the taste profile of the Echinacea but is itself a natural decongestant, helping to clear out the sinuses and soothe the throat.

Echinacea is a powerful herb and those with compromised immune systems such a HIV, MS or TB patients should not drink this tea without consulting a health professional.
